about me

Hi there! My name is Andrew Stevens Purdy, and I am a Broadway actor, singer, dancer, and educator represented by Douglas, Gorman, Rothacker, & Wilhelm (DGRW) Talent.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, the theatre has always been a major part of my life. Thanks to a “Broadway Kids” CD given to me by my parents, by three years old, I was belting out “Heart” from Damn Yankees, slamming buckets around the kitchen while lamenting that “It’s a Hard Knock Life,” and getting in touch with my felinity (despite being allergic to cats) while dancing to “Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats.”

I attended high school at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA. At Walnut Hill, I not only had the opportunity to concentrate on developing my craft, but I also learned what it means to be an artist. In 2020 (yikes), I received my BFA in Music Theatre from Elon University in North Carolina, where I was fortunate to receive exceptional professional training within the context of a liberal arts education. While at Elon, I completed my College Fellows research thesis, entitled “Art Without Eyes: The Process of Creating a Podcast Musical.” Visit the research page for more information!

Since graduation, I have been working consistently in both theatre and film, most notably in the Broadway production of The Book of Mormon and in the rom-com, Meet Cute, starring Pete Davidson and Kaley Cuoco.

When not performing or working with students, I also enjoy hiking and exploring nature, playing in the Broadway Softball League (Go Frogs!), and consuming obscene amounts of hummus.

Thanks for visiting!
